A rarely seen sign from the Glasgow Underground was borrowed, relocated and secured to a gallery wall with a padlock. After text was painted on either side, four constantly shifting and contradictory readings of the text became possible (i.e. Nowhere, Now Here, Not Here and No There) so referring to the displacement of a specific object from its original function and location to the non or neutral space of the gallery and by implication to a broader shifting of boundaries and definitions of space.
